High-Speed Sorter - Jet Surfing Shoe Sorter |
| Itochu Food Products Corporation, one of Japan's largest food products wholesalers, ships an average of 22,000 cases every day. Processing 4,500 products, Itochu has implemented an advanced distribution system to cut the time needed to sort orders 30-40% while reducing errors to less than three per 100,000 orders. Itochu's Sagamihara facility serves as the processed foods distribution hub for 50 Itoyokado supermarkets in Kanagawa, Tokyo, and Yamanashi. Among the 4,500 SKUs are processed foods such as condiments, canned goods, candy, and liquor. Consolidating all wholesale distribution and using discrete distribution routes to stores has cut costs and improved service to the stores. |

Pick-to-Light system - Digital Pick System |
| The consistent double-digit growth year in and year out at Winzer Corporation is attributed to its unique franchising system. Winzer Corporation is a distributor of fasteners and repair and maintenance supplies for the industrial and automotive markets. In response to the rapid growth and success it was experiencing, Winzer looked to Daifuku for help. Daifuku helped implement a hybrid semi-automated system for Winzer’s “pick, bag, and tag” operations. Winzer found that by automating a few key areas, it could provide more assistance to its franchises. Daifuku installed 60 Put-to-Light consolidation locations to ensure that picked products fill the appropriate orders, among other products and automation tools. The entire system is controlled by Daifuku America’s Warehouse Management Software (WMS), Warehouse Rx®. With the new equipment and control software, the company is able to keep its growth rate in the double digits while fulfilling its promises to franchises nationwide. |
